The Hampton
Oaks Hurricanes are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Head
Coach for the 2012 season who is committed to
engage swimmers of all ages and levels in achieving their potential
through work and dedication while maintaining a fun and positive
team environment. The Head Coach is expected to provide sufficient
instruction to prepare swimmers for competition in freestyle,
backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly swimming events, as well as
starts, dives and turns. It is a seasonal coaching position for
approximately 200 swimmers from Mid-May through beginning of
August. The Hurricanes are part of the greater Rappahannock Summer
Swim League
This is a contractual position for
the summer season, with a desire for a long term coach who can
return for several seasons to help build consistency for the
organization.
Key
Responsibilities:
--Responsible for the overall swim team
program
--Coordinate and participate in all team
practices
--Supervise, manage and direct the activities of
assistant coaches
--Ensure the coaching staff functions well as a
cohesive team.- Provide a safe, fun, and productive swim experience
for all swimmers
--Coordinate swim meets and non-swim activities
with board and parent volunteers

Specific
Qualifications:
-- Knowledge of RSL swimming
rules
--Current CPR and First Aid
Certifications
--Ability to work nights and
weekends
--Competitive swimming
background
--Experience with RSL software (including printing
event cards, meet entry reports, team data storage) is a
plus
