President's Note
30 July, 2008
- Dear Hurricanes,
Congratulation to all of our swimmers, coaches and parents for a fantastic season! We have ended the 2008 season undefeated and the Duel Meet Battlefield Champs! This weekend is the division finals and I can’t wait to see all the outstanding performances by our kids and see who will win the Battlefield Final.
As many of you know, we have one of the largest swim teams in the Rappahannock Swim League and it takes a lot of volunteers to run a swim meet. Many of our parents went above and beyond the call of duty. I would like to personally thank all of the parents who volunteered this year and a special thanks to those who did more than the minimum requirement. Unfortunately, there are too many to name. Also, I would like to thank the retiring Board for a great season. For a team of our size to function, we need a Board of Directors as well as Auxiliary Board members. These positions are critical to the planning and running of the swim team.
On Sunday evening, we will have an End of the Year Banquet and General Meeting. After the award ceremony we will have a brief meeting with nominations and the election of next year’s Board of Directors. Please consider being nominated for one of the Board of Director positions or volunteering for the Auxiliary positions. It is imperative that we have parents “step up” and support this fantastic team so that we can continue to thrive in the future.
These positions include:
-
Board of Directors: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator, Equipment,
RSL Representative, and Sponsorship.
-
Auxilliary (non voting) members – Awards, Concessions, Data Coordinators and Parent Liaison.
All of these positions are crucial to a successful swim team.
Thank you for your careful consideration to these needs.
Sincerely,
Paul Bauer
President, Hampton Oaks Swim Team
